Matilda Campbell has been married to her husband Alexander since 1960, and they have four sons. She has also been a foster mother to several children. Matilda became a Christian in 1960 and together with Alexander, helped set up this church in Gloucester in 1961.
As well as serving in various offices in this local church, Matilda also served as District Secretary in the youth, women’s and pastoral ministries. She also taught at a Bible training institute in Bristol. Matilda was appointed as National Women’s Ministry Director in 1982, and served for 13 years in this role. During her time serving in this post, she travelled to Germany, Cyprus, Malta, France and Africa to minister in local churches and at national conventions. She has also ministered in her native country, Jamaica. Matilda took on the pastorate at Church of God of Prophecy’s Cardiff church between 1995 and 1997.
In her later years, Matilda embarked on further studies, including English, Social Care, Preliminary Nursing, and Christian counselling.
